A Series of Unfortunate Events

What a crappy day!

  1. I tripped and fell into a video game store.
  2. I lunged to steady myself by picking up the nearest thing at hand, which happened to be a Nintendo Wii.
  3. I bounced around the store, unable to regain my balance, grabbing for anything to pull myself back up: Mario Kart, Rock Band, an extra controller.
  4. My credit card slipped out of my wallet, right through the cash register’s swipe reader.
  5. To relax during times of stress, I pretend to sign my name. Unbeknownst to me, the cashier had slipped a pen into my hand, and before I knew it I had signed some sort of receipt.
  6. I didn’t have time to return it—I had to hurry home to a party at my house.
  7. As I arrived home I realized I had forgotten to send out the invitations to my party. So no one was coming over.
  8. I didn’t forget to buy alcohol, though, so here I am with a kitchen full of Chex Mix and whiskey, with nothing to do for the next 4 days but play video games.

I’ll probably keep the Wii.
