I presented this year’s trick-or-treater’s with a basket containing three items.
- One apple
- One granola bar
- One one pound bag of Hershe’s Dark Chocolate Kissables
The first trick-or-treater (roughly two and a half years old) went straight for the apple—probably because it was red, shiny, and obviously edible. In fact, he immediately took a bite out of the apple.
Others alternated between the apple and the granola bar, probably assuming the gigantic bag of candy was too good to be true. Some apparently calculated that the brownie points they would earn with mom would outweigh the slim chance that I was actually offering a ludicrous-sized bag of candy. “Mom! I took an apple!”
The last one finally had the testicular prowess to take the giant bag of candy. There are great things in store for that kid.
